DescriptionHepburn & Co (listed in the Trade Directories' as bleacher/finishers) traded at Square Mill which was situated at the end of Railway Street/Kay Brown, Ramsbottom. It was built in 1821 by William Grant & Brothers. Sometimes referred to as 'Square Works' or 'The Square'. Building demolished 1950. Hepburns specialized in fine muslin cloth for Indian clothing with a 'tambouring' decorative finish.
