DescriptionThe office was opened in 1914 as a branch of William Deacon's Bank which merged with Glyn Mills & Co. to form Williams & Glyns Bank and subsequently the Royal Bank of Scotland. Gives a brief history of the Manchester and Salford Bank which changed its name to William Deacon's Bank in 1901.
