TitleTom Fish Collection: A Century of Public Transport - slide show, also available on CD.
DescriptionThe collection was created by Tom Fish and at his death was left to Bury Archives in his will. The slides were copied onto CD by his friend David Flood who spent time with Tom during his last illness discussing the slide collection. The captions are a digest of what David knows or can remember of what Tom told him. Two other local bus enthusiasts have also added to the captions for the slides.

Some of the images appear to have come from the Bury Archives Photograph Collection but most of them seem to have been acquired from unknown sources or taken by himself at various locations in Bury.

Tom Fish was born in London (within the sound of Bow Bells), and who served his time as a joiner. He moved to Bury because of a lack of work in the building trade and became a bus driver for Bury Corporation Transport Department. This is what sparked his interest in the local tram and bus transport in the Bury Area and caused him to create the collection.
